The boys varsity cross country team earned first place at the state competition this weekend in Tallahassee. This is the fourth consecutive state championship for the team. The girls varsity cross team placed sixth at state.
The boys teams have a winning streak, dominating every regular season meet they've entered. They were also district and region team champions, with a perfect 15 points.
"In respect to our team, the phrase 'The whole is greater than the sum of its parts' is evident," said Trent Mandato '17, the boys varsity team captain. "Our team is more than just our scores; we are brothers who push each other past our perceived limits."
The girls varsity cross country team won their district competition for the first time in eight years, and qualified for the elite race at the Cady Caples meet at Boles in Jacksonville, a race reserved for only the fastest and highest ranking runners in the state. The girls team placed third at regionals.
Congratulations to our Trinity Prep runners on their hard work this season!
