Eight Trinity Prep middle-and-upper-school students will be performing in all-state ensembles during the Florida Music Educators Association Conference in Tampa from Jan. 11-14, 2017. The conference is held in Downtown Tampa and music educators statewide attend for professional development. Every all-state ensemble meets during the state conference to rehearse under master conductors and then perform their selections at the end of the conference.

Each fall, students audition to participate in the all-state ensembles. This statewide competition is challenging. For example, the choral auditions including taking a written musicianship test and sight-reading music. The top 15% of students in the state on the sight-reading test earn a place in the sight-reading choir. Based on the scores, some students are selected to move forward and record their part in six to seven all-state pieces, which are then judged.

Trinity Prep students in all-state ensembles are:

  • Jenna DeBell '17 - All-State Symphonic Band
  • Sean Leider '18 - All-State Men's Choir
  • Hannah Lindvall '18 - All-State 11-12 Symphonic Orchestra
  • Olivia Miller '19 - All-State Sight-Reading Choir
  • Lili Pope '20 - 9-10 All-State Concert Orchestra
  • Molly Pope '21 - Middle-School All-State Orchestra
  • Alexandra Rick '18 - All-State Women's Choir
  • Maggie Yuan '21 - Middle-School All-State Orchestra

Congratulations! This is a testament to the excellent quality of Trinity Prep's music programs.
