Trinity Prep would like to congratulate the Cross Country Team for winning their third successive state championship. We asked a few of the team's seniors what makes this win so special, and why they love their team!
As explained by senior Jesse Millson, the team's success can be attributed to a tradition of excellence combined with the expertise of the coach, Chaplain Vinal. "Chappy has developed some great runners and leaders in the past, and we all learn from their successes and failures. Former team members all led this team to victory, and the current team continues to be inspired by their accomplishments. We aspire to achieve equal, if not greater, successes than our predecessors, and hope to maintain this lofty goal with the intention of upholding greatness beyond our time. The team's camaraderie helps fuel our commitment to the sport, and running truly becomes a part of who we are."
Chaplain Vinal has played an important role in facilitating the team's overall success. When asked to comment on Chaplain Vinal's leadership, seniors Charles Cook and Jacob Goldberg affirmed that his leadership has paved the way for the team's triumphs. "Chaplain Vinal plays the dual role of inspiring us with his years of experience and encouraging us as runners to take over, lead, and motivate each other," says Goldberger. "He also helps build the core foundation of our running ability by utilizing workouts conducted while practicing every day after school to their maximum potential."
The combination of a phenomenal coach and a positive team spirit will undoubtedly serve the cross country team well in their endeavor to compete at the national level. Having already claimed three state championships as a result of hard work and unwavering commitment to the sport, the team will continue to inspire others to follow in their footsteps while staying true to the core values of the school.
