Seniors Varun Bhatia and Nicholas Reuter are candidates for a special scholarship to be awarded through the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program by the program's corporate and business sponsors.
The boys are being considered for a scholarship funded by the Siemens Foundation. Special scholarships, in varying award amounts, are provided by many of the National Merit Program's corporate sponsors that also offer the Merit Scholarships for National Merit Finalists.
Special scholarship candidates are designated by high scores on the PSAT and by filling out entry forms with the sponsor company (or companies).
These two seniors will continue through the special scholarship competition by submitting additional required materials. A committee of the National Merit professional staff evaluates the candidates, and winners of these scholarships will be announced in March.
