On June 8 to 12, three Trinity Prep seventh graders, Enzo Cunanan, Emma Davey, and Frank Kogan, competed at the 2016 National History Bee and Bowl Competition in Chicago, Illinois, led by their coach and history teacher Kevin Keith.

Seventh grade student Enzo Cunanan was crowned the 7th grade Champion and the recipient of a $2,000.00 grand prize. Enzo was also the recipient of medals as the top scorer on the Civilizations Subject Area Exam and Ancient History Subject Area Exam. This victory marks the second year in a row that Enzo was crowned National Champion at the History Bee Competition and the second consecutive year our Bowl Team made it to the championship rounds. Our team of three made it to the quarterfinal round of the Bowl competition.

The competition is open to students in elementary grades through eighth grade. Students involved at the national level progressed from the school level to the regional competition and finally to the National Finals. This year, there were over 1,300 students and 52 bowl teams in the competition.

Special thanks go out to the Cunanan, Davey, and Kogan families for their attendance, and seventh grade American History teacher Kevin Keith who coached the team during the year and chaperoned the trip.
