ITEMS ON CAMPUS
We know many of you have items that either you need to return to school before the end of the year (library books, uniforms, loaner computers, etc.) or that you may need to pick up (personal belongings in your locker, books, instruments, medicine etc.), and we want to let you know that we are putting a schedule together to accomplish those tasks. In May, we will let you know the procedures for dropping off and picking up items, and the time when that will happen. Until then, for your safety and the safety of our staff, please do not plan to come to school. If you have something that you need immediately, please contact the front desk.
SUMMER PROGRAMS
Registration for Trinity Prep summer programs remains open. We will continue to keep the Summer Programs web page updated with any changes in the schedule as they occur. The deadline to register is May 15. Visit TrinityPrep.org/Summer to register.
Senior Aidan McLaughlin Named Semifinalist in U.S. Presidential Scholars Program
Trinity Prep Senior Aidan McLaughlin has been named one of 621 semifinalists in the 2020 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from nearly 5,600 candidates expected to graduate from U. S. high schools in 2020.
Scholars are selected on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in both community and school activities. A distinguished panel of educators reviewed the submissions of the nearly 5,600 candidates and selected the 621 semifinalists including 31 semifinalists from the state of Florida.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments.
Annually, up to 161 Presidential Scholars are chosen from the semifinalists, representing excellence in education and the promise of greatness in America’s youth. Those will be announced in May and they will be invited to Washington D.C. in June for a recognition ceremony as well as a variety of events and activities.

SPECIAL GUEST IN MUSICAL THEATER CLASS
This spring, the musical theater class show was to be "In Transit." Sadly, the production was cancelled due to the pandemic. Brian Gold -- TPS Class of 2002 and Arts Hall of Fame recipient in 2019 -- invited one of his friends to share his time with us. Arbender Robinson was a part of the original "In Transit" production as well as many other Broadway shows. He talked about his experience with putting together this unique a cappella show, told many stories, answered lots of questions, and got to know our students. Brian Gold also came to class and acted as moderator. Arbender reassured the students that the process of learning and workshopping a show are just as valuable as performing it. It was just what they needed to hear.
CLIP FROM "MATILDA THE MUSICAL"
Our theater students have been preparing "Matilda the Musical" all semester and have had to postpone the live show because of COVID-19. "Matilda the Musical" is based on the book by Roald Dahl, and the music and lyrics are by Tim Minchin. We're proud to show you this week's clip "All I Know" or "Telly" with Josh Lefkowitz as Mr. Wormwood and Laila Mahler as Michael Wormwood. The clips in the video are all the television programs the cast is watching during the pandemic.
