SUMMER READING

WEATHERBUG SAFETY SYSTEM

Through the generosity of the Jessie Watlington Memorial Foundation, we have added a new Weatherbug Lightning Safety System to enhance our efforts to improve student safety during inclement weather. We will activate this system on Friday, May 20, and use it in conjunction with our current safety protocols. Students have been briefed on the new system during assemblies this past week.

When lightening is detected within six miles of the campus, the Weatherbug system will trigger a single audible horn that can be heard across campus alerting everyone to move to safe shelter. Three shorter horns will indicate when lightening has cleared the area for 30 minutes.

On Wednesday, May 18, four Trinity Prep middle school students were inducted into the American Association of French Teachers' chapter of Les Jeunes Amis du Français. Congratulations to Alexandra Lamar, Sabrina Salazar, Harper Wilcox (not pictured), and Amber Rampersaud!

Les Jeunes Amis du Français recognizes eighth graders who are enrolled in a full academic year of French study and maintain an excellent academic record with an A- average or higher in French. These students were recognized not only for their amazing academic achievements, but for their beautiful artwork exhibited twice on campus this year as part of two separate student exhibits: a study of French Impressionism inspired by Japanese artists, and a display of student reproductions of French monuments and masterpieces.

Félicitations, étudiants!
