We are delighted to announce that Drew Nemec has been named interim athletic director at Trinity Prep for the 2017-18 school year. Coach Nemec is entering his 19th year at our school and has served as the assistant athletic director throughout his time here. We are currently in the process of switching to a new dining account service provider called PaySchools. All new families and returning 7th grade families should have received an emailed invitation from the TPS Technology Department to the required online orientation course. The orientation course is divided into two sections: The first section, "New Students," must be completed by all new students. The second section, "1-to-1 Orientation," must be completed by all students bringing a laptop to school. The online orientation course is designed to be completed with assistance from a parent. All sections should be completed no later than Sunday, Aug. 6.
Individuals who are unable to complete any portion of the online course by the Aug. 6 deadline should contact Mrs. Kienle at kienler@trinityprep.org. Should you have any technical difficulty completing these items, please email helpdesk@trinityprep.org or call 321-282-2504. The help desk's summer hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call 321-282-2504 for an appointment should you need more specific assistance with this process.
Trinity Prep's history bowl team was named national runner-up at the 2017 National History Fair in Atlanta early in June.
This was the best performance by a TPS history bowl team in school history. This nation-wide competition brings together 48 teams and hundreds of competitors to test their knowledge of American and world history.
Trinity Prep was represented by four middle school students at this competition: Enzo Cunanan '21, Rom Peles '21, Leah Keefe '22 and Nicholas Santiago '23.
Enzo bested hundreds of competitors and was named a semi-finalist in the History Bee. Please join us in congratulating these students on their wonderful accomplishments.
Trinity Prep alumnae Lalee Ibssa '17 took home two scholarships after earning the title of national champion at the 2017 National Speech and Debate Tournament in Birmingham, Ala., which took place in late June.
Lalee won her championship in the poetry interpretation section of the tournament. This title earned her a $1,000 scholarship to Western Kentucky University and a $400 Hall of Fame Scholarship. She was also named a semifinalist for prose interpretation.

Trinity Prep also received a School of Honor Award in Debate at this competition, naming this school one of the top 40 debate schools in the nation.
Eight Trinity Prep swimmers have earned All-America recognition by the National Interscholastic Swimming Association & Speedo.
Trinity Prep alumnae Claire Maiocco '17 was recently added to the Academic All-America Award list. This award recognizes high school seniors who have achieved a grade point average of 3.75 and above.
Claire was also named among the Girls High School Swimming All-America winners for the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. The girls swimming 200-yard Medley Relay, which included Grace Olivardia '18, Jenessa Schwarz '20, Claire Maiocco '17 and Summer Heidish '18, also won a swimming All-America Award.
Additionally, Luke Uttley '20, Matthew Degtyar '18, Jan Collazo Torres '19 and Arrington Moses '18 were awarded Boys High School Swimming All-America awards for their 200-freestyle relay.
Trinity Prep's boys and girls swimming & diving teams have also been named among the National Interscholastic Swimming Association's Gold Award Schools, earning Scholar Team Award recognition. The girls swimming & diving team ranked No. 19 with a combined GPA of 3.888. The boys swimming and diving team ranked No. 9 with a combined GPA of 3.842. Saint Up!
Our goal for the Trinity Prep Fund committee is to enhance parent connections with our School, as well as boost the overall annual giving participation rate. Trinity Prep needs the help of devoted volunteers to personalize our annual giving campaign efforts. Interested in learning more about being on the Trinity Prep Fund committee? There is a mandatory meeting for all 9th graders and a parent about the High Rocks trip on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 3 to 4 p.m in the TPS auditorium. Girls' Night In follows immediately after the meeting for ALL girls.
The Class of 2018 will kick off the school year with a special all-day program designed to help seniors make a smooth transition into an exciting and important final year at TPS.
The program will feature activities to jumpstart the college application process, panel presentations on leadership opportunities and academic success, and a special workshop on "Creating a Positive Impression in the College Process" with University of Tampa Director of Enrollment Management Brent Benner.
Seniors will need to have their computers, College Counseling Handbook, and important forms completed for Senior Day. The two key forms are: the transcript release form and the Thinking About College Applications worksheet. These documents were mailed over the summer. Both of these forms require parent signatures. Please make sure that your senior has these forms to help ensure a smooth start to what will be an exciting year!
